Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the region’s most awaited summer entertainment and shopping fiesta, is back again for its fifteenth edition in 2012. The event will be held from June 14 to July 14.

Since the first DSS in 1998, families and visitors has been given something exciting to look forward to year after year. Dubai’s sun drenched beaches and golden sand dunes mingle with an infrastructure par excellence to give travellers a once-in-a-lifetime holiday experience of shopping, entertainment, winning, and lifestyle, in addition to Modhesh World – the region’s biggest indoor edutainment venue named after the popular cartoon character Modhesh. 

What is Dubai Summer Surprises 2012 all about?

Exploring Dubai is so much fun during the summer. The region’s best shopping deals, world-class family entertainment, giveaways worth millions of dirhams, and a choice of the Middle East’s finest spas await visitors to Dubai during DSS. Around 50 luxury malls put out the best shopping promotions for shoppers while hosting entertainment shows throughout the summer. These include highly-acclaimed international shows, concerts, and exhibitions.  

What’s more, every shopper is rewarded for shopping with an opportunity to win prizes and giveaways throughout DSS. To top it all, visitors can choose from numerous spas to avail discounted rates for various health and wellness treatments.

Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) was launched in 1998 to position Dubai as a summer destination. The festival is one of the highlights of the city’s summer calendar with GCC residents and other tourists flocking to the city looking for bargains in the over 6,000 stores participating in this annual event. 

This shopping festival is also heavily geared towards families with each mall undertaking a programme of events for children of all ages. Mall-based events and international character shows are entertainment highlights of DSS.     

In addition to the shopping bonanza, a part of Dubai Summer Surprises has nothing to do with shopping and everything to do with fun! Modhesh World features the festival mascot, the smiling yellow character named Modhesh. This huge entertainment space is divided into different themed zones. Toddlers, kids, and teenagers will all find plenty to do and discover here - from playgrounds and soft toy areas to the latest video games and a 4D cinema. Modhesh World is a child's dream come true.

Cyclops Communications is pleased to present Romp on the Rock - KK Live in Concert, a special Valentine's Day concert with with leading Indian music stars such as award winning playback singer Krisha Kumar Kutty (KK), Krishna Beura, Shruti Pathak and Ash Chandler. KK will perform bollywood hits such as Pal, Khuda Jaane, Tu Hi Meri Shab, Kambakht Ishq and many more.  The show will open with Ash Chandler, a popular standup comedian pop singer.
