Register your child for a Dubai school
If possible, try to visit the UAE up to 6 month prior to your relocation to Dubai, so you can look around the schools and register well in advance. In some schools, students have to take an admission test prior to being offered a place. Many schools and colleges have online pupil registration forms where you can apply to register. KHDA website has a directory listing and guide for all government, private, special needs, day care centres, etc. (Choose type of school location from Directory)
Documents Required
- Application form from the school
- Copies of student and parent’s passports and Dubai visa pages
- 8 passport photos of the student
- Copies of student’s birth certificate
- School records of the last 2 years
- Immunization records and medical history
- A transfer certificate from the student’s previous school.
NOTE: Original transfer certificates must contain the following details:
- Date of enrolment
- Year of placement
- Date the child left the school
- School stamp
- Official signature
The Ministry of Education also requires the following documents for any student enrolling in any school in Dubai:
- Original transfer certificate (to be completed by the current school)
- Most recently issued original report card
- If the student was attending a school anywhere other than the UAE, Australia, Canada, Europe or USA, the transfer certificate and the most recently issued original report card must be attested by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE embassy in that country.
